I mean, if I had seen this as a kid back when Transformers was still on air, I would have lost my mind. The sculpt and detailing are spot on, you have lights all over the body and the toy transforms all on its own. Put simply, this is one of the most amazing toys I have ever played with and it has been immaculately done. On the latter, Peter Cullen has very graciously lended his voice to this toy, which is lovely really, and you also have a few clips of music from the show as well as some nice sound effects thrown in for good measure. The robot mode is nice and chunky, as well as very large. You can also download additional poses and dialogue too. The various actions in robot mode can be customised and changed, making your own poses in the process. Once transformed, he can also walk, talk and do all manner of other actions (see the video below).īoth the energon axe and blaster have their own actions too, but need to be used carefully and have to be removed when you transform him back to truck mode. In truck mode, you can actually drive him around and honk his horn, which in and of itself is rather remarkable. While there are extensive voice commands, you can also control Optimus Prime via Bluetooth via a smartphone app. After that, I took him through his paces. Naturally, the first thing I did was make sure that Optimus Prime was fully charged, or on a full tank of energon so to speak. You also get a charger and USB cable, not to mention all manner of other trinkets. Includes an energon axe and Optimus Prime’s iconic blaster. Onto this Robosen toy, it comes in its own lockable carrying case. The truck mode can be driven remotely and also has a handy horn.
